Mississippi Book Festival

The Mississippi Book Festival in Jackson, Mississippi last weekend was fantastic! Thousands of attendees, and hundreds of authors. I was grouped with several other Southern writers – and they were a wonderful and interesting group of people.

I had very limited space, so my display was pretty simple since I had to save space for the books!

While I was in Mississippi, I was also invited to speak to severla groups of high school students in the small town of Mendelson, Mississippi – and the kids were engaged, interesting and asked lots of great questions! They also invited me to Homecoming – which was great fun!

Here’s some photos from the Memphis Public Library where there were 60 authors in house for the event, which included lectures, dancing, music and food trucks.

My newest non-fiction offering is out! Three Years in a Colombian Prison is based on my interviews with Aristedes Jesus Rodriguez Riohacha and his family during and after his incarceration at the La Picota prison in Bogota, Colombia.

The Princes of Shelby County is now available in both print and e-book formats from multiple retailers.. The first reviews are phenomenal! The book is currently available in print and e-formats, just in time for the holidays!

The Princes of Shelby County is done.. Now comes the long (and tedious process) of editing and formatting. This is part that I hate – luckily I have a great team to work with. While we are editing The Princes of Shelby County I will be publishing details and hints about the upcoming book for my readers that are eagerly awaiting the second installment in the Murder in the Mississippi Delta. You can also enjoy my new podcast, which is a serialized reading of Barons of Memphis while we await a final publication date.

The Barons of Memphis is headed into the studio as we start production on our audiobook. We are working with some great Memphis talent – and it’s an exciting experience.

The Barons of Memphis book release party was a success! Thank you to Mayor Lee Harris (Shelby County) for declaring November 19, 2021 as ‘Marnie Gellhorn Day”.

An exclusive group of local Memphians were invited to enjoy wine, cheese and a short reading from Barons of Memphis.
